Hey all this is calisto-lynn!! :)

:new: new updates are placed at the bottom of the journal. :new:

Since we have a whole comic event, i decided to post some tips and tricks regarding backgrounds, penciling, inking, page layout, coloring, lettering etc.
im sure it will come in handy to everybody who want to improve and learn some new stuff.
here i decided to post some tips that worked really well for me, and i found them on the internet made by other comic artists:

:bulletred:TIPS for artists

:bulletred:16 panels that dont work too well
:bulletred:22 panels that always work

:bulletred: note to background artists and artists in general!!
-first one i decided to make is a perspective guide. since i know most of you here are not very fond of drawing background, or even know how to start on.

:bulletred:   -first things first. you need to use construction.(yeah i know.. its boring to construct.. but trust me, what seems to be the long way its actually short way because with construction half of the picture is allready done)
if you start drawing one part detailing it heavily without constructing or even sketching out the overall image, you will use a lot of your energy on details and once you move away you will realize how slow it really goes or perhaps that perspective is incorrect and give up. perspective tut

:bulletred:   -note that its entirely your choice to use these tips, its not a MUST for an event, you can draw however you like :) this is an event whose purpose is entirely to have alot of fun, and to get to know the other members. i just thought to fill you in on some things

:bulletred:   -this one is about comic pages it might give some inovative ideas on how to set up your page.

:bulletgreen: TIPS for writers

:bulletgreen::bulletred:  -here is something that might help out writers who never had a chance to see a comic script.  this is a sample script from top cow comic company, which is used to give artists something to work on in order to get accepted  in the comic business.
here you can see that a script is not only about dialogs, but a writers job is to describe a scene in a best way for an artist to draw.
this might come in handy to both writers and artists. (writers to use it as a guideline, and artists to know what to expect)
:new:
:bulletred: :bulletgreen: here is something i found. a guide to making a good comic script . please read. its very log and its really usefull: www.gurukitty.com/chaoticfate/…

Do we have a story line yet, have people already gotten started on their pages?
